A crucial step to buying a computer is deciding what you want from it.
Often people make the mistake of allowing the computer to buy them rather than them finding their computer.
The first factor to determine is whether you want to buy a desktop or a laptop.
Many people have often bought laptops only to take them off their table twice a year. You pay a substantially higher amount of money for the purposes of mobility. With the same amount of money you could easily buy a desktop that is three times more powerful.
Before choosing to buy a laptop, decide whether you are actually going travel with it and whether its mobility is important to you.
Once you decide whether you’re going to buy a laptop or a desktop, you have to then decide what it’s going to be used for. This may be Word Processing, Small office utilities, graphical editing, gaming, using the Internet and research or educational work.
Once you know exactly what you want from you pc then you can begin to narrow the computers down to a handful of models from three or four different brands.
This also becomes an indication to how much it’s going to cost you.
You will find that a computer made for gaming, graphical editing, higher business calculations or computer aided design would be much steeper in price than those that are made to perform simpler tasks such as surfing the internet or word processing.
